I mentioned in my previous blog that I had made paper models of the Berries from the Pokémon franchise. In the same vein, I recently made a set of paper models of Poké Balls and Apricorn. There are 77 Poké Ball models along with seven Apricorn models. I got information from Bulbapedia [1] [2] and the Deviant Art pages & comment sections of two artists named seancantrell and WandererTJ. The Poke Balls took six days to make while the Apricorn took one.

Edit: Back in July I decided to give my paper Berries and Poke Balls to one of my favorite YouTubers, Lost Pause alias Noble-senpai. Recently I discovered this video, which mentions me from 14:07-14:36 (It took me so long to find this because I'd skipped it as the title featured an unfamiliar anime and I didn't know it had unboxings. Whoops). He didn't pronounce my name right, but I'm so glad he got my package & fan letter and enjoyed them! :-D This guy is great. He talks about sexual stuff sometimes, but he's a cool guy. He's a funny guy, but he also discusses scandals with a heart and understanding that few people on YouTube have.

February 2022 Update

November 2023 Update

These Poke Balls appeared in an episode of Pokémon Horizons: The Series. This brings the new total to 98 canon Poké Ball models and nine Apricorn models.

I don't know why they're upside-down, but here are the listings when rightside-up.

• First row- Rocket Ball, Boomerang Ball, and Bomb-Bomb Ball (which I feel is the stupidest Poké Ball ever conceived)
• Second row- Chase Ball and two currently unnamed Poké Balls

Here is also a list of Poké Balls I have not and do not intend to make models of.

• Glacia’s yellow Poké Ball from Pokémon Ruby, Sapphire, and Emerald and Lt. Surge’s pinkish-tan Poké Ball from Pokémon FireRed and LeafGreen- These differently-colored Poké Balls, both from Generation III games, are believed to be coloring errors due to sprite limitations.  It’s worth noting that in later games (from later generations) that featured the characters, their Poké Balls had the standard coloration.

• The Master Ball from the Furret’s Frolic mini-game from Pokémon Stadium 2- This version of the Master Ball lacks the “M” on the front.  However, it’s believed that this is a sprite limitation or error rather than an actual variant of the item.

• The concept art Poké Ball/gashapon capsule from the original Capsule Monsters concept- I decided not to include this because it’s unofficial (since it’s just a drawing from an early concept of the game).

• Other semi-transparent Poké Balls from the Pokémon Adventures manga- I included the version of the Poké Ball and Safari Ball from Adventures, but other than that I’d feel like I was splitting hairs.

• The Poké Ball and Master Ball from the Pokémon Pocket Monsters manga- In a similar case as above, I’d feel like I was splitting hairs.

• The Dual Ball from the Pokémon trading card game- It’s literally just two Poké Balls seen together.  They’re not even merged together or anything like that; the card literally just shows two Poké Balls and treats it like a special tool when it’s merely two Poké Balls.
